Who is Jean McLellan?

Jean is a licensed real estate professional, specializing in the sale of new and previously owned homes. Jean began her real estate career in the Syracuse area. In addition to selling real estate, she was also teaching young children in the elementary grades. After receiving her M.S. in Education and a C.A.S. in administration, her passion for education took her to the position of Elementary Principal. In order to give her undivided attention to students, parents and teachers in the district, Jean put real estate “on hold” for several years. After moving to the Saratoga area 16 years ago, Jean assumed the position of Elementary Principal at Glens Falls City Schools. After retiring from education in 2008, Jean went back to the other passion in her life, real estate. Since then she has been able to guide many families in finding their dream homes.

Jean is also a certified stager, offering homeowners the ability to depersonalize their home and give it more universal appeal. Statistics show that in 2014, homes in the Capital Region were on the market for an average of 86 days. The average number of days on the market for homes listed and staged by Jean is less than 30 days. Her effort prior to listing is all important in making the process smoother and less taxing for the sellers.

How does her previous career benefit her clients?

Experience is the best teacher. As an elementary principal, Jean always put the needs of the students first. Sometimes it meant negotiating with boards of education to prove a distinct student need based on accurate numbers. Quality research and documentation were both essential in making good decisions for students. These same skills are also crucial in providing real estate clients with professional services. Buying a home is an extremely important decision for everyone. Jean’s clients can expect to have all the facts and expertise necessary to make the home buying or selling process a seamless one!

What does Jean do for fun?

Jean loves spending time with her family and friends. She feels fortunate to call the Saratoga Springs area her home. In the warmer weather, she can be found outside most of the time enjoying all the area has to offer.
